To Whom It May Concern-
I am writing to apply for an instructional position with your institution in English, communication, or psychology.  I have been working at Carson City-Crystal Schools for the past six years doing work on testing, state reporting, and scheduling; my work as a classroom instructor speaks to my skills at organizing and running research-based instructional programs.  My skill-set and reputation for being a hard-working, problem-solving employee make me an exceptional candidate for this position.
I started Carson City’s Advanced Placement Program six years ago, and I now teach AP English and AP Psychology.  I love the experience that my students receive in these advanced programs and know that my experience will transfer seamlessly into the college setting.  I also have taught general English, communications,  and social studies classes over the last fifteen years of my teaching career.  I am open to teaching any of the classes that I am qualified for.
Perhaps my strongest trait would be my organizational skills.  I pride myself on making sure that everything gets taken care of in a timely and complete manner.  This is necessary when dealing with administrative tasks such as staff evaluations, student achievement, and state reporting.  There would be no worry about these requirements being completed in a timely and correct fashion.
I am very excited at the prospect of expanding my teaching experience into the collegiate level; I really feel this is the perfect next step for me in my career and in helping students.   I would appreciate an opportunity to meet and discuss this position with you.  Thank you so much for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,

Sarah Ross-Koves
